Six ways to spend an hour with us
Tell us what hurts and what you want from today. Every massage is set to your pressure, and every hour is sixty minutes on the table.

Nadia Kerrigan opened Basalt Massage with one table and one rule she still keeps: an hour here is sixty minutes on the table, and the talking happens before the clock starts.
She spent six years at a downtown hotel spa watching people get fifty minutes and pay for sixty. Today there are three of us in a converted 1920s house on the South Hill: two quiet rooms, one big enough for couples, and a lounge where the kettle is always on.
A full sixty minutes on the table, every time.
Heated tables and fresh linens for every client.
Free street parking out front, every day.

One hour, minute by minute
Minute 0
We talk first
Five unhurried minutes about where it hurts, what you want from today and how much pressure you like.
Minute 5
A warm table
The table is heated and the room is dim and quiet. Your therapist checks the pressure once, then lets you drift.
Minute 55
A slow finish
No abrupt ending. The last minutes are long, slow strokes, and you take your time getting up.
After
Water, tea, no rush
A cup in the lounge and a note on what to stretch at home. Rebook only if you want to.

“I've had massages all over the country and nobody listens like Priya. My hamstrings feel like mine again, right in the middle of marathon training.”
Jenna, Manito
“The hot stone massage in January is the only reason I make it to spring. Nadia's hands are warmer than the stones.”
Carlos, Browne's Addition
“Wendell made my third trimester bearable. The side-lying setup was so comfortable I fell asleep twice.”
Aisha, Garland District

What should I wear?
Whatever is comfortable. You undress to your own comfort level in private, and you stay covered by a sheet the whole time except for the area being worked on.
How much pressure will I get?
Exactly what you ask for. Your therapist checks once in the first few minutes, and you can say lighter or firmer at any point.
Do you take insurance or HSA cards?
HSA and FSA cards are welcome. We don't bill insurance directly, but we'll give you a receipt with everything your plan asks for.
Can I book while I'm pregnant?
Yes, from the second trimester on, with Wendell or Nadia. We use side-lying positioning and bolsters, so you never lie on your belly.
What if I need to cancel?
Cancel or move your appointment up to 24 hours ahead at no charge. Inside 24 hours we charge half the price, and we always waive it the first time.
Do you sell gift cards?
Yes, from $50, sent by email instantly or in a card at the front desk. They never expire.
